RFID Software Guide 101

RFID is the short form of radio frequency Identification. RFID is similar to bar codes, RFID, but electro magnetic coupling is used to transmit signals. The main components of an RFID are silicon chips, an antenna and transceiver that can be used anytime and anywhere. The passive RFID tags do not require any energy source while active ones with backup power.


RFID is like a tag such as information and instructions are stored. Can be used in the manufacture of a car, a collar, etc. An RFID system is up to 90 meters. Unlike the bar code, RFID technology requires no sights of reading a barcode and RFID scanning can be performed at a distance greater than barcode scanning.


RFID has a plethora of uses. While initially the technology is only limited to track or identify dogs, a means of permanent identification number, the uses of RFID technology are simply multiplied over the years. Today, RFID is seen in almost all sectors. If the medical education (such as the library), shipping, automotive electronics, musical instruments, follows the movements of individuals via their passport etc., wherever that RFID technology is at work.


RFID becomes more popular for the production of RFID software. For example, most recently Intermec technology company has created a new intelligent-type RFID reader that can automatically route and manage information from RFID tags remotely, using WebSphere infrastructure device (the WRDI of IBM). WRDI is an open standard software platform that can be embedded in RFID devices. Software facilitates users with automatic collection of data and reports from the remote sites that do not have their own it support systems. The software also allows you to filter or to refine the incoming data based on predefined criteria or relevance and sends only the information necessary for the application of the enterprise server. WRDI is not only effective in network traffic data, but also allows you to make decisions on board. The software is a key role in integrating and reconciling the RFID data with the values of the various items of information about the company.


Innovation IBSS (integrated business systems) software based Synapse also has proven to be an advantage for the business world. This software called SynTrack Mobile Asset Management keeps a record of the expensive task of an undertaking as they move through different places. The software can identify a hierarchy of groups of tags, tags and areas. It offers a real time position of assets to be followed by continually updated in the user interface.


In addition to these large organizations an outstanding attempt has been made by a group of Malaysia. Using RFID technology students have invented a software or a device called the object Identification Information Network (Odin) to solve the practical problems of the people.
